Peacemaker Paddle: Fundraising Event Down on the Suwannee River
Capturing Moments That Move a Mission Forward.
I was recruited to participate in the Peacemaker Paddle, a fundraising canoe trip down the Suwannee River, organized to support the construction of an inclusive waterpark designed for individuals with disabilities. This event was more than just a scenic paddle—it was a powerful gathering of people united by a cause: to create recreational spaces where everyone, regardless of ability, feels welcome.
Why Event Photography Matters
Documenting events like the Peacemaker Paddle isn’t just about snapping beautiful pictures—it’s about telling a story. Through photography, we capture the energy, emotion, and purpose behind a moment in time. These images become a visual voice for the mission, allowing others to see and feel what the cause is all about—even if they weren’t there. Photography brings visibility to the people driving the change, the spirit of the event, and the meaningful progress being made. It transforms a local effort into a shareable, relatable story that can inspire wider support.
A Day of Unity and Purpose
Paddling down the Suwannee River was a physical challenge, yes—but more than that, it was a celebration of shared purpose. The camaraderie was palpable. As I photographed the event, I witnessed determination, joy, and connection in every stroke. This is their act of advocacy, of a community moving forward together. These moments—smiles between teammates, hands pulling canoes ashore, quiet pauses on the river—carry the emotional weight of the cause and help others understand why it matters.
Supporting Accessible Recreation
Inclusive waterparks give individuals with disabilities access to the same joyful experiences that many of us take for granted. These spaces support not just physical activity, but also belonging, fun, and freedom. Events like this are stepping stones—both in spirit and in funding—toward a world that is more equitable and enriching for everyone.

Check out these great images of the team. I'm so thankful we didn't tip over with all my camera equipment despite all my need to move around...
